Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital was established in April, 1986. It was one of the seven 100 bedded hospitals planned by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi during the 6th five year plan under Special component plan for Schedule Cast/Schedule Tribes. Later it was enlarged to 300 beds in the year 2010. It is located at S-Block Mangolpuri. It provides health care facilities to 15-20 lakh population residing in near by areas. It is managed by the state government and provides free health care facilities. It provides Out Patient Department services, casualties, Emergency services and In Patient Services of all the common medical specialities. OPD services are available in specialities of Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Dental, Chest clinic, Homeopathy and Family Welfare. Ipd services are available in Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, ENT and Ophthalmology. It also provides free drug distribution and investigations for the patients. The hospital manages a patient load of about 250 OPD patients every day and bed occupancy of 125%. It also has a thirteen bedded disaster ward. It also has Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy services for patient’s rehabilitation.
