Introduction


'San Jose Airport is known as Mineta San Jose International Airport which is owned by the City of San Jose. It is considered as America's 10th biggest and city's 3rd biggest airport which covered 1,050 acre area. It was one of the airports that participate in noise regulation program in the United States in 1980. In the year of 1990, the company started service between SJC and Tokyo.

Renamed


The Airport was renamed after Norman Yoshio Mineta in 2001, which was the native of San Jose who was the former mayor and congressman, former United States Secretary of Transportation and former United States Secretary of Commerce.

Operations


The airport has Three runways which operate 87 general and 135 commercial flights to several domestic or international destinations. It has a number of fleets such as Boeing 737, 757, 767 and 787 Dreamliner as well as Airbus A-310, 319 and 320. Moreover the airport also welcomes numerous flights some of them are Alaska Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines etc. Apart from this it also houses shops, restaurants, VIP Lounge, Taxi Services, Parking and Ground Transportation services etc.

Terminals


The airport has two terminals first one is terminal A that was opened in 1990. It has 16 gates and Terminal B was opened in 2010 that has 12 gates. These terminals are connected with airside. First Terminal A was designed by the team of engineers that led by HTB, Incorporation and terminal B was designed by Gensler and the Terminal by Fentress Architects.
