Listen.com purchased TuneTo.com in April 2001 and relaunched it as Rhapsody in December, 2001. Rhapsody was the Pioneer to provide music subscription services on demand through its vast music library. Its sources of content have been the major music publishing companies such as Naxos Records, Universal Records, EMI, BMG, Sony etc. Its parent company, Listen.com was acquired by RealNetworks in 2003 and Rhapsody has become RealRhapsody before being reverted to its original name again. In 2010, Rhapsody was spun off rom RealNetworks amidst the dropping subscribers rate and financial crisis. The company has gained 100,000 new subscription since its foundation as an independent company. In 2011, Rhapsody acquired Napster, an online music store.
