The airport was named after Raymond Collishaw, a fighter pilot in world war 1 who was born in Nanaimo. It is operated by Nanaimo Airport Commission. The airport elevation is 92 feet. It has one runway namely-16/34. The length of the runway is 6,602 feet and 2,012 meter. The airport handles approximately 25,000 passengers per year. The airport provides passenger services by four airlines namely- Air Canada Express, Island Express Air, Kenmore Air and Westjet. Nanaimo Airport provides 12 daily flights non-stop to Vancouver and the lower mainland. The Nanaimo-Collishaw is the passenger terminal of the airport.
