Lambert Airport is well known as Lambert–St. Louis International Airport. Albert Bond Lambert laid its foundation in 1920 in Missouri. Initially, the airport was used for the international air races. Later on, it commenced its flights services to St. Louis through Marquette Airlines, Robertson Airlines and Eastern Air Lines. In 1958 Missouri Air National Guard acquired the airport and renamed it into Lambert Field Air National Guard Base. With the growth in airport, it built up its new terminals to reduce air traffic. The airport expands its flights services to nationwide. In 1971, it became an international airport and reintroduced as Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Several Airlines merged with Lambert Airport including American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, American Eagle and others and started its services to community. The Lambert–St. Louis International Airport is located at 16 kilometers northwest of St. Louis in Unincorporated St. Louis County.
