King Khalid University is Associated With and Known as:
It is a first University of higher education with a motto “read in the name of your lord, who has created this universe.” In 1961 King Saud university changed its name with Riyadh university. It is expand in the area of 9 km2. Its former name is –Riyadh university.
After becoming king Prince Faud announced that this would be the House of culture &Science. After the opening of an university he opened colleges, institutes and laboratories. Its main ambition was to nuture the healthy minds of the young generation. With the opening of the university it would increase the knowledge of our kingdom. It is public university. Abdulwahab Bin Mohammad Azam was the first Rector of this university. Now a Days, Alomer hold this position.
Many of new branches had been opened like, College of science, college of Public administration& college of Pharmacy. College of Agriculture, College of Medicine, were opened in 1969.They offer many of courses in natural sciences & social sciences. Research centre had been also opened of Agriculture, Arts, Pharmacy and so many. With the Effort of ministry of education and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia they started College of Engineering. Library was introduced in 1976. Now, 18 libraries are there which has seven floors. This building is in 51400 square area with 4000 seats. With the opening of library they opened Arabic language Institution also. They introduced Abha campus with the college of education. On the occasion of Silver jubilee College of dentisity and college of medicine were opened . on this occasion its name was again changed goes back its original name of King Saud.
There is University Hospital which was established in 1956 but affiliated by university in 1976. Hera, treatment is free for staff & students.
The medium of study is English except Arabic. There are 37.874 students are making their Future here. Boys as well as girls are taking education here. In faculty both sexes are doing work. They have close television network. According to webometrics. Khalid university gets 25th position in Asia & 1st position in Arab.
