I just watched jane fonda in Five Acts, and was moved to tears. Her early family experiences were very much like mine growing up - a mentally ill mother who attempted suicide, and was in a mental institution for two years;a kind, but emotionally distant father; I was sent away to boarding school at the age of 15, shortly after my mother "left", which I learned later that she was in a mental hospital. I did not see her until my graduation from boarding school. This was in 1962, and my mother was never the same for the remainder of her life until she died at 79. Over the years when I asked my father what happened to my mother when she was suddenly gone, he refused to tell me. I have lived with that mystery my entire life (I am now 74 years old)and continue to feel a great sadness and sense of emotional loss. I just want to share with Ms. Fonda my story, and for her to know that I feel her pain, and admire her strength and courage with how she has lived her life.
