Guelph Lake Conservation Area offers a beautiful outdoor space whether be it for relaxation or for recreation. Guelph Lake, located northeast of the city of Guelph, Ontario is a man-made reservoir on the speed river. It has been Very popular for swimming and various beach activities. It is maintained by the Grand River Conservation Authority.
Area
Spread across an area of
3,971 acres, Guelph Lake Conservation Area was created in the year 1974 with the construction of the Guelph Lake dam. It has a camping area with 104 serviced sites with electricity and water and about 190 un-serviced sites in a variety of locations, including riverfront and forest. The Guelph Lake Conservation Area has two beaches and a venue for outdoor concerts. The concert area is the site of the annual Hillside Festival and is located on a peninsula at the centre of the lake.

It offers various recreational services and has over four hundred campsites, forested hiking trails and vast open water ideal for
swimming, windsurfing/sailing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, cycling and fishing. It also has a nature centre, which offers environmental education programs for schools, families and community groups, as well as environmental day camps and birthday parties. Guelph Lake Conservation Area offers facilities of a
gatehouse, group facilities, washrooms, sports and fun, boat lunch, etc.

Opening Times
It opens between
May and October from 8 a.m. until sunset, or also provides the option of camping overnight. It has quiet hours between 11:00 pm - 7:00 am wherein no excessive noise is permitted at that time.
