By 1969, this corporation merged with the nationwide Delta Dental Company, and the name subsequently became the Delta Dental of Kentucky.

Delta Dental of Kentucky together with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky in 1971 began to administer Dental plans within Kentucky in-order for it to remain as a non-profit organization. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky then combined with its sister concern the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Indiana in 1993, popularly known as Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. In 1997, Delta Dental of Kentucky splitting from Blue Cross and Blue Shield became an independently run organization with its own Kentucky employees and customers. In April 2006, the Delta Dental Kentucky moved to the present corporate headquarters. The seven-story Delta Dental building is designed to make sure a family-friendly work atmosphere is maintained that enhances employee job satisfaction and productivity. Delta Dental of Kentucky joined its affiliate states in 2009 to feature a common Delta Dental Plan of Michigan.
