Costa Coffee is the British maker and supplier of Coffee beans, headquartered in Dunstable, England, United Kingdom. The company has been operating as a completely owned subsidiary of Whitbread PLC. From 2009 to 2010, the company was listed as the second largest coffee maker in the world after Starbucks and the largest in the United Kingdom on annual revenue basis.

As of May 2014, the company regulates its major operations in the United Kingdom, running nearly 1,755 shops and more than 1,106 shops in 30 counties namely Canada, United States, Australia, New Zealand and many more. The primary locations of the small coffee outlets are mainly available in cinemas, pizza huts, airports, Railway stations, subways, hospitals, business parks and many more are in line.
Costa Coffee’s line of products includes Expresso, Americano, Macchiato, Expresso Panna, Arabe, Mocha, Cappuchino, Café Latte, Vienna and substantially more. On other hand, it also provides snacks like nachos, chocolate Lava cakes, pizzas, cookies, brownies, etc.
History
The journey of the Costa Coffee was begun in 1971 by the joint efforts of Bruno Costa and Sergio Costa as a distributor of roasted coffee in Lambeth, London. The distribution of roasted coffee was mainly done across local caterers and restaurants. The company entered in retailing business in 1978 with its first outlet opened in Vauxhall Bridge Road, London. Later in 1955, the whole business was acquired by Whitbread PLC, an UK based chain of hotels, coffee shops and restaurants. Costa Coffee bought Coffee Heaven for £36 million which leads to expansion of 79 stores in the Europe.
