The Associated Public Schools of Victoria (APS) is a group of eleven independent schools headquartered in Aps House, Victoria, Australia. It was established in the year 1908 for the participation of the students of member schools in various sporting competitions. The Association is similar to the Athletic Association of the Great Public Schools of New South Wales in New South Wales. The students of the member schools participate in different games and compete against each other in the sporting fields in variety of sports. The Association originally began with various sports competitions like Rowing, Cricket and Australian Rules Football. The different varieties of Sports are divided into Three seasons like spring, Summer and winter. The Associated Public Schools of Victoria (APS) is headed by the chairperson.
Activities
The students who are in the primary year levels compete on the Friday afternoons and those students which are in the seventh year or above compete on Saturdays. The official language of Association is English. Students from the member schools participate in various carnivals throughout the year including swimming, Rowing, Athletics and diving. The variety of sports played by the member schools include Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Water polo, Tennis, swimming and diving, Squash, rowing, soccer, Netball, hockey, Golf, Futsal, Cross Country, cricket, sailing, Australian Rules Football, Table tennis and Softball.
