ACES (automation of central excise and service tax) is an e-governance service provided by Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP). It functions under the department of revenue, ministry of finance, government of India. ACES is an automated software application aimed at improvement of tax-payer services in the indirect tax administration across India. ACES was started in December 2008 in the Large Tax Payer Unit (LTU) Commissionerate in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
