History
Sutter Health was established in the year 1918 and named California Pioneer John Sutter. John Sutter has the same name as a historical fort in Sacramento’s original European settlements. He started the organization after the "1918 flu pandemic". The present day organization was started in the year 1981 as a small health care system. With the passage of time, the organization expanded with the opening of new hospitals and medical facilities in different parts of the country.
