The first cafe in Starbucks chain was opened in Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington in the same year of its establishment. The company started as a Coffee Bean roaster and retailer and with the passage of time spread its Roots to other parts in the restaurant industry. The cafes in Starbucks chain offers different varieties of both Hot and cold coffee, microground instant coffee, whole-bean coffee, full-leaf teas. In addition to beverages the outlets in the chain also sell food items such as pre-packaged food items, sandwiches and ice-creams etc. Starbucks company through its subsidiaries are holding many restaurant businesses some of them are La Boulange Bakery, Torrefazione Italia, Evolution Fresh and Seattle's Best Coffee etc. Starbucks chain have its presence in many parts of the world and is the largest coffeehouse chain in the world with 20,891 stores in 62 countries as of March, 2013.
