Registrar Of Companies (ROC) is under the Central Government of India through the respective Regional Directors and is under Section 609 of the companies Act. It regulates the formation, functioning, financing and winding up of companies. The Act is responsible for registration of companies and Limited Liability Partnership’s (LLP’s) drifted in various states and Union Territories. It also maintains registry of records and regulates the companies in order to confirm that they conform to the Act. As per the Act, there exists two types of companies – private company and public company. It has over twenty two offices covering all the major states of India. .
