The organization was established in the year 1913. It was formed at the Second Safety Congress. In the initial years, the organization was named the National Council for Industrial Safety and in the following year, it adopted the name National Safety Council. NSC comprises over 55,000 members including individuals, small and medium businesses, public agencies and educational institutions.
