Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum is used for hosting various type of events such as trade shows, exhibitions and concerts. The arena operations are owned and managed by Nassau County and SMG, a privatly owned property management company, respectively. The multi-purpose arena was opened in the year 1972. It has been designed by Seattle born Welton Daniel Becket. Initially, the arena had maximum capacity of 15,000, which was enhanced by renovating it in 1976 and 1983. In February 1983, the 35th National Hockey League All-Star Game were held at the arena.
