Clairol was founded by Lawrence M. Gelb and Joan Gelb in 1931. During 1950, the Clairol takes first step with hair color product for professional use. Clairol was regarded one of the major organizations in the United States market for hair-coloring by 1959. In the same year, Bristol-Myers Squibb, a pharmaceutical company acquired from the Gelbs. Clairol introduced the first shampoo-in haircolor under the brand name of Nice 'n Easy, and also introduced a slogan, “The closer he gets, the better you look”. In the year 2001, Bristol-Myers Squibb sold its Clairol division to the 'The Procter&Gamble Company'. In 2003, the company changed its name in P&G-Clairol, Inc. from original name, Clairol, Inc.

The repackaging of Nice and Eay has eliminated the NATURAL Blonde in the eight series of hair colour. All. Packages say it is Natural lower in the box. Where is the hair colour that says NATURAL BLONDE and why are there no longer more NATURAL BLONDE shades from pale blonde to a light brown.
