Bankplus History
Bankplus is an operating subsidiary of the Bancplus Corporation. The bank had commenced operations in 1909 as Citizens Bank and Trust Company. In September 1994, the bank was renamed as the BankPlus after its merger with Southeast Mississippi Bank. That deal also helped the bank to expand operations in Southeast region of the state. Since then, the bank has acquired many financial companies and institutions including Home Savings Bank SSB (Meridian), the Belzoni Branch of Nbc Bank, The Mortgage Corporation of Mississippi and First National Bank of Holmes County.
