Hello,
My name is John Alofs and I am an Executive Platinum Customer/Million+ Mile AA traveler. I am writing to let you know about a flight attendant who was undoubtedly under the influence of either alcohol or some sort of drug during our flight back home to Phoenix (from Monterey last Sunday Dec. 2nd). Her behavior was extremely erratic, her speech was slurred and she talked constantly to my wife and I )we were in seats 1D and 1F) about things like "My hair is pinned up because I slept on it this way", " I barely made this flight, because I walked three miles to a Korean restaurant in town and then had to walk back". Then as we were pushing back from the gate she said loudly to no one in particular " Here we go" During take off she forgot to lock up the metal container which houses the ice and cups and the container flew out and landed with a loud crash with cups flying onto my feet and legs. I tried to see her nametag when she was serving drinks, but she wasn't wearing one or it was pinned to her jacket. I have flown an average of 26 weeks a year for 33 years all over the world and NEVER have a seen such erratic behavior by a member of any airline staff/crew. My wife, who used to be an International flight attendant with Northwest was uncomfortable to the point of turning away from the aisle and putting on noise cancelling earbuds so that she didn't have to listen to the ramblings of this attendant. The women I am writing about is Asian and I would estimate in her early- mid 40's. From the odd looks and comments spoken between some of the other first class passenger's it would not surprise me if mine is not the only letter that you receive about this flight )AA 5839) on Sunday December 2nd.
